First step to biological regeneration of a heart
The technique is to use the matrix of an organ and tissue to grow from a stem cell seeding
The artificial heart of the future could be biological. It’s not a pun. It would, in a few years if the process works, the closest thing to create a heart. But do not start from scratch. The novelty of the technique, explains the head of cardiology at the hospital Gregorio Maranon de Madrid Francisco Fernandez-Aviles is that it uses a kind of mold. In this case, it ruled out a heart transplant.
The first step is to treat this body with an enzymatic detergent to eliminate the donor cells. The result is that the flesh is dissolved, and allowed to clean the matrix of the heart (which would be if we were talking skeleton of bone or connective tissue made up of infrastructure in this case). From there, the structure is grown stem cells to regenerate heart. This step is complicated, but since there is a history (it has done with trachea and small animals, says Fernandez Aviles). But there is one step: that the structure, properly irrigated, is made to beat. Read the rest of this entry »
Working long hours is bad for the heart
A study of 6,000 British civil servants found a 60% increase in the probability of coronary heart disease
Working 10 or more hours a day is bad for the heart, according to results of a study in the UK. People who usually work three or four hours over the seven rules are 60% more likely to suffer serious heart problems, including heart attacks than those who serve their time, researchers have said, based on a study conducted over 6,000 British civil servants over 11 years. Work an hour or two has not, however, adverse effects.
The relationship between work hours and heart disease is demonstrated in the study, but not the cause, which may be the stress of overwork. In general, people tend to take hours with a pattern A (these tend to be aggressive, competitive, tense, aware of the passage of time and usually hostile), or suffer psychological disorders manifested by depression and anxiety and may not get enough sleep or do not have time to relax before sleep, researchers say. How to do Massage on Patients Suffering from Heart
Correct Position:
Lean forward, arms as strong as you can, for compression.
A severe heart attack caused by blockage of a coronary artery. This blockage prevents blood reaching the heart muscle.
A simple way to determine if heart function is to evaluate the pulso.Si the person has no pulse to restart the circulation by chest compression on cardio pulmonary resuscitation practice which has two purposes:
Keep your lungs full of oxygen if breathing has stopped and
keep blood circulating carrying oxygen to the brain, heart and other body parts.
NOTE: Before you start the massage be sure of the absence of a pulse as it is dangerous to do compressions if the victim still has movement.
This technique can be performed by one or two people, when there are two helpers, one will perform the inflations and the other compression (and alternate), must be coordinated and stay alert to the opponent’s moves. Any movement that takes place should be supported loud so there is better coordination.
Technical
The heart is located in the chest, slightly to the left.
-Put the victim on his back with arms extended over your body.
“You press the chest over the area of the heart.
“Kneel at the height of the victim’s left shoulder and place your hands, one above another, above the heart, your hands must be on the center of the sternum and press with the heel of your hand.
Another tip to locate the correct area of compression is: locate the costal margin (last rib below), then find the lower tip of the sternum, is two fingers above it.
(For a child uses only one hand. For a baby uses only the index and middle fingers in the center of the chest in the middle of the nipples).
Lean forward, arms as strong as you can, for compression.
You must perform 15 chest compressions per 2 ventilations (breaths), repeat. (The speed of the massage is 80 to 100 compressions per minute). You should count each compression as follows: one thousand one, thousand two, thousand three, and so on.
In babies and children over one year he made 5 compressions and insufflation, repeat these actions until the victim recovers the circulation and respiration or in your case, if medical care is here.
If the pulse is restored spontaneously suspended cardiac massage maneuvers and continuing with breathing and repeats the procedure until a doctor is present.
If the victim in a baby or small child, you should compress the chest with two fingers only, at a rate of 100 times per minute.
Remember that your compressions should be done carefully, since both his ribs and his heart are weaker.
If during transport the victim regains a pulse and breathing place it in safety or side position recovery and be sure to watch your vital signs.
The approximate time compression and breaths should take approximately 15 seconds, so it is 4 per minute maneuvers.
