Shiatsu as a Type of Massage Therapy

Similar to acupuncture, this type of massage therapy is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine because those who practice it believe that a person is not feeling well due to imbalances in the life force which flows through the meridians.

To fix this, the masseuse uses her fingers and palms, pressing energy pathways, called meridians to improve the vital energy.

Scientists have another explanation for this, saying that Shiatsu calms an overactive sympathetic nervous system. In doing so, helps improve blood circulation, relieve stiffness of muscles and relieves stress.

Shiatsu To be effective, the massage therapist who performs, you have to put pressure on a continuous rhythmic sequence. Unlike other types of massage therapy, the pressure feels more localized some points for best results. Acupuncture to Treat Depression During Pregnancy

More often hear talk of postpartum depression, but less is known about prenatal depression syndrome, which affects approximately 10% of pregnant women. Treatment methods are sought safe for the fetus and has been found that acupuncture can treat depression in pregnancy.

Depression in pregnancy is as important as postpartum depression and the mother’s emotions negatively affect the baby during pregnancy.

The power would help combat well as acupuncture, the ancient Chinese therapy technique that involves sticking thin needles through the body for healing purposes.

The Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona, U.S., conducted a study with 150 women suffering from severe depression during pregnancy. One third of these were treated with acupuncture specific for depression, another general acupuncture and massage and acupuncture another general. (more…)

Acupressure is a method derived from acupuncture but without needles. Tibetan technique is finger pressure on specific points relieving some small everyday ailments such as fatigue, stress or headaches. It also helps to balance your energy or recover regulates the sleep as nervous tension. It facilitates the expansion pressure, improves heart function, bowel and kidney.

Its great advantage is that you can do yourself as self-Massage.

What is an acupuncture point?
He invented more than 360 points distributed by the energy channels or meridians that travel throughout the body surface. Some acupuncture points coincide with the nerve pathways and others with the blood or lymph.

Not that these points have specific therapeutic virtues, but allow the flow of energy.

How to proceed?
Acupressure involves pressing acupuncture points with the fingertips while breathing deeply.
