The financial crisis is noted in almost all sectors, including acupuncturists are starting to notice it. It is now necessary to find new patients quickly. If we analyze carefully the economic downturn, we will realize that, as practitioners of alternative therapies, we should look not affected by the crisis. In times of “bad economy,” our patients and their families and friends can suffer not only financial problems but also physical and emotional. Knowing what we know of acupuncture and Chinese medicine is a good time to be a professional in the MTC. Why? It is very simple. Our job is to make people feel better. They taught us to treat physical and emotional problems. Today there is a high degree of emotional stress that manifests itself physically through pain. The emotional failure is occurring widespread emergence of new disorders, for which we have a solution. So why are not people queuing in front of your clinic? Good question. First, the perception people have of acupuncture is that it serves primarily to treat pain. Most people do not know that acupuncture calms, relaxes and helps to overcome these difficult times. People are not familiar with the great emotional support that acupuncture can offer. It is therefore very important to change this paradigm, and no better way than through the benefits offered by the Ear Shen Men Point Zero and HN-3 extra point. That’s why I started with acupuncture “Happy Hour”. These sessions consist of treatments in small groups Ear 15 €. I started doing it for two reasons: (more…)

Shiatsu as a Type of Massage Therapy
Sunday, April 11th, 2010Similar to acupuncture, this type of massage therapy is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine because those who practice it believe that a person is not feeling well due to imbalances in the life force which flows through the meridians.
To fix this, the masseuse uses her fingers and palms, pressing energy pathways, called meridians to improve the vital energy.
Scientists have another explanation for this, saying that Shiatsu calms an overactive sympathetic nervous system. In doing so, helps improve blood circulation, relieve stiffness of muscles and relieves stress.
Shiatsu To be effective, the massage therapist who performs, you have to put pressure on a continuous rhythmic sequence. Unlike other types of massage therapy, the pressure feels more localized some points for best results. If at any time you feel pain, you should tell the therapist to adjust pressure and that is comfortable for you. (more…)

Others however do not use them, but when pregnant and go to regular visits with the obstetrician or midwife that the subject of weight, often giving more importance than it has, and just feeling the need to control a bit what you eat to prevent weight gain more.
In this need appears one of the easiest substitutions to perform: changing the sugar and saccharin. However, being pregnant, what is better?
The answer is simple and does not need too many rodeos: sugar is better because artificial sweeteners cross the placenta during pregnancy can harm the fetus.
Aspartame
Aspartame raised doubts, as there are experts who advise against its use has not been proved safe and experts, also has not been proved unsafe, do not prohibit it entirely, ensuring that, if consumed in moderation, appears to be safe during the pregnancy. (more…)
