Why Acupuncture of Choice?
The financial crisis is noted in almost all sectors, including acupuncturists are starting to notice it. It is now necessary to find new patients quickly. If we analyze carefully the economic downturn, we will realize that, as practitioners of alternative therapies, we should look not affected by the crisis. In times of “bad economy,” our patients and their families and friends can suffer not only financial problems but also physical and emotional. Knowing what we know of acupuncture and Chinese medicine is a good time to be a professional in the MTC. Why? It is very simple. Our job is to make people feel better. They taught us to treat physical and emotional problems. Today there is a high degree of emotional stress that manifests itself physically through pain. The emotional failure is occurring widespread emergence of new disorders, for which we have a solution. So why are not people queuing in front of your clinic? Good question. First, the perception people have of acupuncture is that it serves primarily to treat pain. Most people do not know that acupuncture calms, relaxes and helps to overcome these difficult times. People are not familiar with the great emotional support that acupuncture can offer. It is therefore very important to change this paradigm, and no better way than through the benefits offered by the Ear Shen Men Point Zero and HN-3 extra point. That’s why I started with acupuncture “Happy Hour”. These sessions consist of treatments in small groups Ear 15 €. I started doing it for two reasons:
1. It is wonderful to show people how fast that acupuncture reduces stress and anxiety
2. It is wonderful to break with the phrase “I’ve never tried acupuncture and needles scare me.”
The first session was attended Happy Hour 3 to 6 people and followed them with other treatments. With these results, I decided to repeat the session next week. That came after 10 people and 4 are returned. So in two days, only a few flyers and a little more, I got 7 new patients. Not bad.
I did the following:
• Created a flyer
• I went to the shops near my office and told them what was organizing and invited them.
• Ask local businesses if I could leave some flyers near the cash register, where they can be easily seen.
• Wear a masseuse to give massages
• I put a power point about acupuncture and stress at the treatment room
Everybody left with an envelope containing some special discounts for friends and family and 8 most important reasons to try acupuncture. But more important is that patients will be very cool to be talked to you for a long time. Through education, marketing and meetings “Happy Hour” will change the view of many people.
